What Is Self-Care?
Self-care is a broad term that consists of various categories. However, the one common denominator across the whole idea of self-care, is that you are taking care of yourself, and remaining healthy.
It can be very hard to improve your self-care routine, when you have been avoiding it for a long time. I've seen a lot of people who believe that self-care doesn't matter, and it is only for people who are lazy, and don't have anything better to do with their time. However, these people are completely wrong, as even though right now they might be able to live without it, they will eventually regret not making it an important part of their lives from a young age. It is so important, especially for kids and teenagers who are still developing new habits, to prioritize this idea for themselves.
Another common misconception about self-care is that all it means is putting on one more face mask per week, or performing better hygiene. Self-care rather encompasses caring for one's mental state, physical state, and emotional state. Without it, it is practically impossible to be healthy, or happy.
Even though it might be difficult, everyone should take a little time out of their day for it, as the benefits are so important, and will have a tremendous impact on one's health and happiness.
